So who are the people behind the scenes that make Cofa Media the effective, coordinated agency that it is today?

Well, at Cofa Media, we emphasize the word “team” (you might see it a lot on our site). When prospective clients ask what separates our services from other San Diego web design agencies – and if they don’t ask, we tell them anyway – we underline the belief we have in our team above all else. Bragging about services is all good and well – check out our competitors and you’ll get accustomed to it – but the key to an effective product is the team behind it. We believe our team stands alone as the best in Southern California web design. But, to make an effective team, you need individuals—team-oriented individuals, of course; and among these individuals reside a number of varied skill-sets and personality types. From creative and artistic interactive designers, to tech-savvy information architects and usability experts, Cofa Media’s team is rife with talent.

CEO, CO-FOUNDER

Atop our contingent of creative strategists and designers are the brothers who started it all, Edwin and Martijn Lap, or “the crazy Dutchmen,” as we fondly refer to them. Edwin runs the Southern California web design headquarters, while Martijn is in charge of the company’s Dutch office. Edwin originally founded the business when he moved to San Diego almost 12 years ago. He came to visit the US while in international business school, but fell in love with surfing and the So-Cal way of life, deciding to call San Diego his permanent home. Needless to say, when the waves are good, we often start meetings without him!

MARTIJN LAP

CREATIVE DIRECTOR, CO-FOUNDER

Martijn is, simply put, a design genius and is the creative director of the whole company. Quiet and less outgoing than his brother, Martijn is the grounded wise man to Edwin’s flamboyant swashbuckler. Different in many ways, they share an unbreakable bond as brothers, making for the perfect duo at the tip of the Cofa Media pyramid.

NIKOLA MITIĆ

Director of Web Production, CO-FOUNDER

Nikola's skills in web design, web programming, flash development, search engine optimizations and website monetization can successfully lead any project such as complex content management systems, lead generation websites, ecommerce or SEO campaigns.

His broad knowledge of web technologies allows him to lead, improve and motivate teams on one side and to help clients to shape their ideas on the second side.

She has over 11 years experience in all aspects of interactive design & development for both web and mobile applications.

In his free time he enjoys playing tennis or watching soccer, which is his big passion, so don't expect him to answer a phone during World Cup finals.

When not designing super awesome stuff, he plays Pro Evolution Soccer and listens to dubstep music. When he grows up he wants to be an astronaut. Or... a chef!

    Ivica had many jobs, including carrying sacks, in order to put himself through college and reach his goal of becoming a millionaire. His approach to solving programming problems was one of a professional boxer – no issue could stand more than few rounds against him. Quick thinking, great organization skills and experience led him to position of project manager.

    Old school geek and PHP / MySQL developer, lately term ‘Drupal fanboy’ has something to do with him. Previous experiences include projects based on osCommerce, X-Cart and Mambo (Joomla now). Except for occasional peeks into Magento, Drupal is current weapon of choice. Has specialty for large CMS and E-Commerce websites with the touch of social elements.

    Nam-Chi Van is our developer extraordinaire that recently joined the Cofa team. She focuses mostly on front-end development but can also get her hands dirty with the "icky" back-end stuff. Nam-Chi doesn't stop there; Design is another important aspect that she likes to include in her portfolio work.
